Scotts WeedEx Prevent with Halts, Crabgrass Preventer for 5,000 sq. ft.

Scotts® WeedEx™ Prevent with Halts® is a product that prevents crabgrass and other problematic weeds, ensuring a beautiful lawn throughout the entire season. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to apply the product in early spring when the lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, and oxalis. Additionally, applying the product in the fall (August-October) can prevent the growth of moss (except in California) and the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed.

To apply the product effectively, it is suggested to use a Scotts® spreader. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, the recommended setting is 2 ¼, while for Scotts® drop spreaders, the setting should be 4 ½. For Scotts® Wizz®, the setting to use is 3 ¼. For best results, the lawn should receive ¼ to ½ inch of water from rainfall or watering within 2-3 days after application. It is important to note that rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of the product.

It is crucial to understand that Scotts® WeedEx™ Prevent with Halts® is a pre-emergent grassy weed killer, which means it controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth and does not control mature crabgrass or other existing weeds. Therefore, it is essential not to apply this lawn care product to Dichondra and Bentgrass.
