This product can be applied in the early spring when the lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass, and oxalis for the entire season (for goosegrass control, a repeat application in 8 weeks is recommended). It can also be applied in the fall (August-October) to prevent the growth of moss (except in California), Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed.

This lawn care product is suitable for use on all grass types, with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns. The performance of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is not affected by rain, snow, or freezing weather after application. It's important to note that this product is designed to control crabgrass in its early stages of growth and does not target mature crabgrass or other existing weeds.
